Dear Fred,
Just read your mail.  The flooding is terrible.
I think it rained about 5 hours.  Really a downpour.  Driving from Beckley
to church at Mt. Hope was like driving an obstacle course.  Our pastor has
church at Scarbro first and he got flooded in and couldn't make it to our
church.  Pick up trucks in Kilsyth had water half way up to the doors.
Police and ambulance had the road blocked.  Sun was flooded and no
electricity.  I tried to go through at the county line and the rock was to
high for my low car and had to turn around and go up to the old Mattie's
place and down the 4-lane.  Old Valley Drive, now Robert C. Byrd Dr.,
was/is flooded.
I, too, like Dot, request prayer.  From what I saw in Kilsyth, the homes
were flooded.  That means floors, furniture, etc.  I would say a lot of
people do not have flood insurance.  They will need a lot of things.  Used
to be when Kilsyth flooded, they had a thing abt. food and cleaning and all
because of the creek.  Don't know how it is now.
Mt. Hope was flooded at the R/R crossing toward city hall and underpass.
The lights were blinking and alarm clanging, warning comes on automatically
when it floods.
It rained so hard here in Beckley, the storm drains couldn't handle it all.
Got water in my basement and garage.  Not as bad as I have seen it.  The
last time it was running in one door across the basement and out the other
door.
I think the sun is trying to come out but more rain is predicted this p.m.
The wind is blowing so some of the places may dry out quickly.
Some rain may be coming from the Carolina's from the tornado.
There isn't anything we can do abt. it so we do the best we can and pray.
Take care and will talk at you later.
Love and prayers, Cora Sue
