To the News Directors of the Major News Networks.

I was going to send a joint e-mail to all the networks but since ABC did not
show an e-mail address, I sent this message to their e-mail page and I will
say what I have to say to all the other News Networks.

I think all of you have had you "Heads in the Sand". West Virginia had 11" of
rain in a four hour period on July 8. It devastated the state, 34 counties,
with many people losing their homes, all their belongings and many lost their
businesses. Again they were flooded last Thursday that did much damage and
again yesterday.

WHERE ARE THE NATIONAL NEWS MEDIA??? If they have 2 inches of rain in China
it is on the national news. Or if their is even a small tornado somewhere, a
flood in North Carolina or heavy storms in the West, there is plenty of
coverage. And usually the news network that covers it, "brags" on being first
or the only one covering the story.

The people in West Virginia are part of this country whether you might think
so or not and they deserve to be recognized as well as the other states. I
have not lived in West Virginia since 1953 but I have family and friends
still there. You cannot believe how many WV natives living in different
states did not know about the disaster. If it were not for the Internet,
checking local newspapers in WV and e-mails received from relatives and
friends still living there, I would not have known either. I sure did not see
much coverage on the local or national news in Columbus, Ohio.

If you would take the time to go back and investigate the last three weeks,
you will see the millions of dollars that has been lost, lives that were
lost, businesses lost, and all the stories about volunteers, churches and
others giving aid and assistance to the people of West Virginia.

What excuses do you have for not covering this disaster? Spending too much
time on Condit or trying to find fault with the President.

Shame On You!
